Black Friday 2014: Of JC Penney, Wal-Mart, Kohls and Target, which store has the best Black Friday discounts?

If you're one of the intrepid shoppers heading out to take advantage of Black Friday sales, you'll want to make sure the time you spend searching for bargains pays off.
And, as a new analysis by WalletHubshows, not all Black Friday sales are created equal.
WalletHub examined 5,525 deals from 2014 Black Friday ads of the 22 biggest U.S. retailers. Using that information, they included the average markdown of those items to calculate which stores are offering the largest overall discount percentage.

Meijer - 50.85%
Sears - 50.19%
Walgreens - 46.74%
Office Depot and OfficeMax - 43.89%
Ace Hardware - 41.01%
Kohl's - 39.89%
Staples - 38.56%
hhgregg - 38.26%
RadioShack - 36.49%
Kmart - 35.91%
Target - 35.61%
AAFES - 34.84%
CVS Pharmacy - 34.32%
Dell - 32.41%
Wal-Mart - 32.16%
Best Buy - 32.08%
Amazon - 26.10%
Big Lots - 25.24%
Costco - 21.14%
All retailers - 39.45%
Here's the best place to shop by category, with amount of discount for that particular category:
Apparel - Sears - 69 % discount
Computers - Office Depot and Office Max - 41%
Consumer electronics - Macy's - 65%
Toys - Kohl's - 48%
Appliances - JC Penney - 50%
Furniture - Kohl's - 60%
Black Friday sales are big business.

Almost two-thirds of Americans said they will be shopping either Thursday or Friday, with overall retail sales for the entire holiday season of November and December expected to reach $617 billion.
