Macy's open earlier on Black Friday 2014 at 6 p.m on Thanksgiving Day

Macy's is apparently planning to open its doors two hours earlier for Black Friday 2014, to 6 p.m. Thursday evening.
There's one more reason why you are probably going to rush through your turkey this Thanksgiving, and not even pause for pumpkin pie.
That's according to an email sent to employees, provided by the website BradsDeals.com. A Macy's spokeswoman told us the store does not comment on internal memos, and has not publicly released any hours yet.
However, according to BradsDeals, the email states:
"After careful consideration, we have decided to open at 6:00 PM (local time) on Thanksgiving. Although this was not an easy decision, due to competitive pressure, we feel it is the right one for our customers and our company. There is no question that our customers are eager to begin their holiday shopping on Thanksgiving Day.
We are asking once again, for you to volunteer to work on Thanksgiving Day. By volunteering you have the opportunity to decide how you want to contribute to our most critical and busiest weekend of the year.”
New Standard Opening Time?
Last year, Macy's and fellow department stores JC Penney, Target, Sears, and Kohl's all opened at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night, so it appears other retailers may also move up their opening time to 6 p.m.
Best Buy opened at 6 p.m. in 2013.  Most Walmart stores were open 24 hours, but did not start their sales until 6 p.m. last year.
Kmart, according to employees, plans to open first, opening at either 6 a.m. or 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, then staying open straight through to Friday night.  That is different from past years, when it would close at Noon on Thanksgiving so employees could go home to their families.
What this means is you may want to mark your calendar for a 6 p.m. shopping rush on Thanksgiving Day, no matter where you plan to shop.
As always, don't waste your money.
